  1. Who We Are

    This website is run by Ryan James Vanderpol (ABN 64 661 817 686), trading as VANDERBUILD, a carpentry and renovation business based in Craigieburn, Victoria. In this policy, “we” means VANDERBUILD. For any privacy question, email admin@vanderbuild.com.au.

  2. What We Collect

    We only collect what you give us, and a little about how you use the site.

    • The enquiry form: your name, phone number, email address and suburb, your answers about the project (what you are planning, budget, timing and style) and anything else you choose to tell us.
    • The booking calendar: your name, phone number, email address, the time you book and any notes you add.
    • How you found us: the first page you visited, the website that sent you and any campaign tags in the link. This is kept in your browser for that visit only, and sent to us with your enquiry.
    • How the site is used: pages viewed, clicks and scrolling, device and browser type and approximate location, through Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. Clarity records how the page is used but hides what you type into forms.

  3. How We Use It

    • To reply to your enquiry, call you and book a site visit.
    • To prepare a quote and carry out the work.
    • To keep records of the job, including for tax.
    • To send you occasional updates about our work, but only if you tick the box agreeing to it. Every message lets you unsubscribe.
    • To understand how the website is used and improve it.

  4. Who Else Handles It

    We do not sell your details. We use these services to run the business:

    • GoHighLevel (LeadConnector): stores enquiries and bookings, runs the booking calendar and the reviews shown on this site, and sends our emails and texts.
    • Google: Google Analytics, and the Google reviews shown on this site.
    • Microsoft: Microsoft Clarity.
    • Discord: sends our team an alert with the details of each new enquiry.
    • Vercel: hosts this website and keeps standard server logs.

    We may also share what is needed with the trades and suppliers working on your job, or where the law requires it.

    These services store information outside Australia, mainly in the United States. We choose providers that protect it to a standard similar to Australian law.

  5. Cookies

    Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity use cookies to count visits and see how pages are used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site will still work. We do not use advertising cookies.

  6. How Long We Keep It

    If you become a customer, we keep your details and job records for seven years, as tax law requires. If an enquiry does not go ahead, we delete it within two years. You can ask us to delete it sooner.

  7. Keeping It Secure

    Your details are sent over an encrypted connection and kept in accounts only we can access. No system is perfectly secure, so if something ever goes wrong we will tell you as the law requires.

  8. Seeing, Correcting Or Deleting Your Details

    Email admin@vanderbuild.com.au to see the details we hold about you, correct them, ask us to delete them or stop receiving messages from us. We will reply within 30 days.

  9. Complaints

    If you are unhappy with how we have handled your details, email admin@vanderbuild.com.au and we will look into it. If you are still not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au (opens in a new tab) or on 1300 363 992.

  10. Changes To This Policy

    We update this page when the way we handle information changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
